Menu Board

So this is what I have so far for my menu board. As of right now it will be printed onto three 4 feet by 2 feet boards hung on the walls of the gallery, as if someone was to walk up and order. Please let me know if you have any suggestions and critique. Thanks!

  1. I think its looking good so far! I think you're type selection, color choices, and description are strong solutions.

The only thing that bothers me is the hands. The middle hand seems more successful bc of the way the text forms around it. I'm afraid that the other hands will come off as being put there as an after thought to fill the space. I also think you should be consistent with the size of your hands or make sure there is a noticeable difference between all 3 vs. just one (the middle hand is larger and longer. the other hands seem cut off uncomfortably short.) maybe try placing the hands in a way that there seems to be interaction between them. placing the hands towards each other (imagine a hand in the blank space at the bottom of the last panel coming in from the right) can create the idea of grabbing for something, i.e. the food.

    Some tiny things I noticed
    - make sure you have consistent punctuation on descriptions
    - there's a space at the beginning of the line before fresh in the peking roll section
    - what kind of cookies are there? its the only menu item the doesnt give the specific options
    - some large words aren't optically lining up with descriptions ("veggie" (twice under phalange foods and "tea" under watering hole)
    - piltdown wrap section isnt aligned with the rest
    - leading between "new guinea grinder" and the description seems larger than the rest

    some layout suggestions / questions
    - possibly make the phalange food section long descriptions like gorilla goodies. the lil chimps and drink suggestions make sense as the smaller column width but phalange foods seems uncomfortable. making these descriptions longer will also create a rhythm between the long and short descriptions.
    - would it make more sense to have modern monkey at the top of the middle panel instead of the bottom?
    - why is lil chimps the only header not in a shape?

let me know if any of this is more confusing than helpful and ill try to explain better. im excited to see the rest!
